Creating the Hidden Treasure website was the collaborative effort of our entire team. We worked together to plan, design and build the final website. We used a two week agile sprint strategy to assign individual tasks, and held weekly team meetings to discuss progress, assign new tasks and make key development decisions. 

Our Hidden Treasure journey began with our team leads consulting the Indu and the Hidden Treasure team to discuss Hidden Treasure’s goals. We then began drafting and selecting the design for the Hidden Treasure logo. We got feedback from Indu to help us create the final design. Once we had our final logo, our designer created several designs for the main website pages using figma, incorporating the logo elements and colours to ensure cohesiveness across the site.

After the designs for each page were finalised, we began the frontend development using React with TypeScript. We started with building the main pages and then focused on ensuring all the pages were responsive, so that the website would function smoothly on both laptops and mobile devices. Our team leads met with Indu and the Hidden Treasure team through the whole development process to show our progress and get feedback. Throughout development our team worked using git collaboratively, allowing multiple members to work on features simultaneously without interfering with each other’s code.

Once most of the frontend was complete, we began implementing the backend using Payload CMS. More experienced team members implemented the complex backend implementation, while newer members finalised the frontend. 

Through this project we have developed our communication, collaboration and development skills. Working as a team allowed us to combine our individual strengths and support each other’s learning, with more experienced members supporting the less experienced and helping them to grow. The Hidden Treasure team and Indu have been lovely to work with and really helped us to refine the website. We are proud to have created a polished, fully functional website that reflects both our technical growth and our ability to collaborate effectively as a team.
